RIP Falwell, a contradiction

So Jerry Falwell died yesterday, all of a sudden...at his desk. Its very interesting to listen to all of the people talk. People who yesterday would have been ripping him apart for what he stood for, his crazy antics and sayings, his faulty theology, are today mourning and saying what a great guy he was. i think i like this contradiction. I think it is right to criticize the living, especially brothers and sisters of The Faith, i think its healthy and okay to call people to task. When that person's job here on earth is done, and they move on to the next adventure, i think its good and right that we move on too. we say job well done, the criticism ends and we keep fighting the good fight. RIP Falwell, may your new adventure be worthwhile.

Throwing Up In Your Mouth Is Never Fun....

This is exactly what i experienced last night upon watching "the great debate" on Nightline last night. It was Kirk Cameron and company from their ever so embarrassing Way of The Master campaign arguing the existence of God (scientifically, without faith) verses these two ignorant punk rock atheist. The bottom line was that both sides were piss poorly represented. Kirk & Co. had stupid things to say and stupid "scientific proof" that God exists. The other side was just as asinine, they may have even been more ignorant especially their claims that the scholarly world "highly debates" the existence of Jesus as a man. I felt like Doc Brown came and through me in the Delorean and we went back 30 years ago to watch Evidence that Demands a Verdict or something. The whole time, i wanted Kirk just to lean over to that girl and ask, why are you so angry??? Lets start with that. Instead it was an embarrassing play made by my brother Kirk Cameron for all of Christianity. It was a dumbed down spectacle and at least Nightline didn't focus on it for too long. Anyway, May 9th will always be a night i remember hanging my head low in shame and saying "Jesus, please forgive us, we really don't know what we are doing."

another reason to blush, thanks Christians

Sync'd or Separate? you decide. i just saw this video that was posted on a friends blog, its incredible. Here is a radio station who thought it would be the best representation of the gospel to concoct a 4 minute video about why God has allowed all these students to die from gunmen and other assorted terrorist acts (ie VTech). Not that these things in and of themselves are not extremely tragic, but the fine creators of this video go on to blame it on taking prayer out of schools. They even quote God, "Sorry, i cant answer your prayer, they kicked me out of schools." Not only is this extremely asinine and ludicrous to think, but its a vile representation of who God is, and how we as Christians see him. This just marks reason number 200 why i am embarrassed to call my self "Christian" sometimes.
