Receding Hairlines, Westerns, and Reusing Old Words

so....um....every fear i kinda buzz my head. just to see how far my receding hair line has gone. EVERY YEAR...without fail...i am utterly disgusted and amazed at how far its gone. i did this last night, for reasons some of you know, i post no pictures of it. i just remind all you gentle readers that Bruce Willis, Jude Law, AND Kevin Spacey are all really good looking guys.

3:10 to Yuma

Just saw this movie. It is really good. Although i did walk away a bit disappointed because it wasn't quite what i expected. i was thinking in my head, Tombstone, Silverado, Young Guns, Unforgiven, or possibly even The Magnificent Seven.... it was certainly way different....in not so good ways. its definitely worth the watch... Russel Crow's character is certainly worthy of my list.

i am now, using the word RAD...more often. its just one of those words that will never die, and always mean something special.

NEWS!!!
so, since my long history at CCU, this is probably the most relevant thing we have EVER done to market high school students at CCU. finally.

R.I.P.

this is crazy. people who know me know that i vicariously live life through movies. a movie, to me, isnt just story, or actors, or cameras, or computer generated effects. every one is a life experience. because of that, i really love actors. thats why the Oscars are my favorite night of the year. it saddens my heart and darkens my day at the news of Ledgers passing. so, in good faith and in good measure, i just want to raise my glass high in honor of a guy who entertained me more than once. heres the reviews:

10 Things I Hate About You: you stole my wife from me in this one Heath, i will never measure up to the hottie you portrayed yourself as here. although it was a teeny-bop movie, it was well thought out and i could watch it many times over. B

A Knights Tale: i know, cheesy, but man i loved this rag to riches tale! B+

Monsters Ball: you didnt do much for me in this, because you were a side character, but it was a great movie. B+

Brokeback Mt.: obviously, you get your lifetime achievement award for this great performance. A

Lords of Dogtown: you stunned us all with this great unforeseen flick. A

Batman, Dark Knight: i hope this amazes me!!!

RIP Heath Ledger

Juno

so, everyone i knew who saw this movie said how great it was. so i was going with high expectations. as anyone knows, having high expectations for a movie is always a bad thing, because if it doesnt meet those expectations, then you might walk away from an 'ok' movie thinking it sucks. so, i didnt know how i would take Juno. however, it far surpassed my expectations.

every now and then there is a movie that inspires me, captivates my thoughts completely, and changes the way i view life. if you want to know other movies that have done that for me, then you can check my list (which needs to be updated).

i loved this movie, i loved the characters, i loved the situation. you look at this family, who, are as close to a 'good' family as you can get. i dont think there was much "Hollywood" to this family, i feel the writers did a good job of portraying something real to life. with that said, this family was just good. they were good people and they were inspiring. one other thing, it just goes to show that Christianity has none to do with being 'good' or our actions. this family was good, and they did it without Jesus and without belief. thats so fascinating to me because its contrary to the Christian faith of most. i also love how it has a pro-life message without being Christian. anyway, it was a great movie.

back

i know its been awhile...but such is the break.
so...whats going on...well, the thing that really made me jump back in the saddle is how absolutely embarrassingly LAME the peoples choice awards were last night. No audience, no presenters, no award acceptors, it was all done by video...accept of course for Queen Latifa who looked like she wanted to shoot herself in the face to end the misery. i dont know if you watched it...but because of this strike (which fyi is ruining some of my favorite nights in the world) If the Oscars are screwed up like last night....there will be a white horse coming with hell following it (who am i kidding....i bluff).

so new years resolutions:
- stay away from Red Kryptonite, Lois is confused.
- Be the Son of Jor-El that you are called to be
- absorb up the yellow rays, Eclipso has been attacking too long
- Pray for friends more.

* these really do have meaning...
